    ALL RESERVED TICKETS ARE HELD FOR YOU AT THE BOX OFFICE, THE DAY OF THE SHOW.

    BOX OFFICE OPENS 30 MINUTES BEFORE CURTAIN TIME.

    There are no additional fees when paying by cash for our regularly scheduled shows.​​​​​​

    Only children under the age of 3 are permitted to sit on laps without their own ticket. All other guests must have their own ticket per seat. ​

  • All reserved tickets are held for you at the box office, the day of the show.

    The box office opens 30 MINUTES before curtain time.

    • EXCHANGE INFORMATION

      If you need to exchange your tickets for a performance of equal value at least 72 hours in advance of the show, we can do so to the best of our ability. Please call our box office at 626.355.4318 and dial extension 2.

    • CANCELLATION FEE

      If you need to cancel your tickets at least 72 hours in advance of the show, we have the option to refund the cost of your tickets. There is a non-refundable per ticket cancellation fee of $2, or, 10% of the face value of the ticket; whichever is greater.

    • Otherwise, we suggest gifting your tickets to a friend!

    The theater sits in the heart of Sierra Madre, a walkable downtown surrounded by cafés, shops, and tree-lined streets.​

    Sierra Madre is a historic residential city located in the foothills of the San Gabriel Valley in Los Angeles County, California, just east of Pasadena.

  • Parking at Sierra Madre Playhouse is easy and close by. Please note that SMP does not operate its own parking facility.

    Free Options

    • Street parking throughout the neighborhood (permit only from 2-5 AM)

    • Free public lots behind the theater and along Sierra Madre Blvd (lots close at midnight)

    Paid Options

    • Limited metered spots near Baldwin Ave

    • Please check posted signs; Sierra Madre meters run shorter hours than Pasadena

    • Bus: Metro 268 route (El Monte Station) stops at Sierra Madre / Hermosa and Sierra Madre / Baldwin. Service runs 5:56 AM - 9:26 PM.

    • Train: Sierra Madre Villa Station on the A Line, connecting to the Metro 268 bus. Metro trains run ~4:30 AM - ~ 1:30 AM.

    • Metro Micro: Services in the Sierra Madre area.

  • To arrange a wheelchair accessible seat, please call the Playhouse’s Patron Services at 626.355.4318 and push 2.

Before the Performance

  • We recommend arriving 20–30 minutes before showtime.

    Doors open one hour before the performance, and SMP staff is here to help with seating, accessibility needs, or ticket questions.

  • Check your ticket for the curtain time and please allow ample time for traffic and parking conditions. Out of consideration for the performers and other members of the audience, SMP observes a "no late seating" policy. Those arriving after the performance has begun will be seated at an appropriate pause or intermission.

  • ????

  • Anything from business to casual wear is appropriate for this experience. Some guests see the a night at the theatre as an opportunity to dress up for an evening out, and will choose to wear more dressy casual attire.

  • We ask that you silence your cell phones and smart watches, refrain from talking, and do not bring food into the theater.

    To protect the experience of performers and fellow audience members, photography, video recording, and audio recording are not permitted during performances. This includes cell phones, recording glasses, smart glasses, and other wearable recording devices.

  • Sierra Madre Playhouse (SMP) is an intimate, 99-seat performing arts center and historic landmark located in the heart of Sierra Madre, California. For more than a century, SMP has been a home for live performance, shared experience, and community gathering.

  • With creative direction by Jamila Glass (pronounced juh-MEE-luh), The CallBack is a multidisciplinary creative house for work that endures: collaborative, intentional, and exploratory. It is a space where ideas are nurtured freely and storytelling shapes the culture.

    We work across film, TV, commercial, music, dance, design, immersive art, and live performance, producing original work guided by a clear vision and bringing together the right artists and thinkers for each project.  It serves as both a production hub and a space for pure creative exploration.  We also partner with brands, organizations, and institutions that seek our approach to world-building and storytelling.
